Association for Rural Mass India (ARM) is a non profit, non-governmental organization, working in the fields of health, community development & empowerment and capacity building activities. It was registered in the year 1993 as a Society under Societies Registration Act of Tamilnadu 1975.

Mr. A. Bakthavatchalam is a professional Social Worker and founder & Executive Director of the ARM Society. He has completed Master of Social Work specialized in community development through Loyola Collage, Chennai. He has also studied Master of Business Administration. He has completed 30 years of experience in community Development, Health and family welfare, Child Rights and protection Nutrition Trainer in essential Advocacy, STI, HIV/AIDS. He has been elected and positioned as Chairperson in the Network of IHN covering 250 NGOs & CBOs in Tamilnadu and Puducherry for the past 12 years. He provides consultancy for NGOs & CBOs across the country. In the year 2021 he has selected and appointed as a member of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for the South Chennai District by the Government of Tamilnadu.

Our Mission & Vision

Association for Rural Mass India (ARM) will join the underprivileged in the struggle to attain Human Rights, Health Rights and women’s Rights by developing, strengthening and sustaining people’s structures so that the plans and policies of the government is a reflection of peoples’ action in the process of creating a just society.

The Association for Rural Mass India (ARM) is committed to spreading awareness about diseases that affect local communities, through the use of novel strategies and tools that are culture and gender sensitive. ARM works to bring about a behavior change among the vulnerable communities it works with in an effort to protect them from diseases and to provide access to quality treatment and care.
